About Karen Byfield As Well As the Paralegal Profession
Karen Byfield and Paralegals
Paralegals are legal professionals licensed by the Law Society of Ontario to provide legal services within specific areas of law and particular jurisdictions such as the Small Claims Court, the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Provincial Offences Court, among others. In 2008, Ontario became the first jurisdiction in North America to accomplish regulation of the paralegal profession.

Karen has a Diploma with Honours in Paralegal. Karen career encompasses ten years of work experience in the corporate world, including Administration, Customer Service, and Banking combined.
Karen also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Psychology and writes on issues such as; neuropsychiatry, neuroscience, psychiatry, mental illness, and mental health. With over ten years of mental health advocacy, Karen was nominated in the world's top one hundred (100) mental health influencers in 2016.
Karen is a generous and well-rounded woman with varied interests and is known for generously contributing to society positively through ten years of volunteering with different institutions and organizations, such as; the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, Immigrant Services, the Women's Centre, among others.
Karen is pleasant, possesses excellent listening skills and a professional demeanour. Karen is passionate about law and mental health and beliefs that everyone should have access to representation regardless of their socioeconomic status, race or ethnicity, gender, religion, class, etc., and Karen will make the best effort possible to ensure that all persons do have access to representation.
